Individuals

Each Login accounts includes web site space visible on the Internet at http://people.cs.uct.ac.za/~username.

To edit your site files in the public_html directory in your File storage home directory. If this directory does not exist ask the System Administrators to set it up for you.

Languages supported include:

  • HTML
  • PHP5
  • Any client side languages such as Javascript

Python or Java frameworks are not currently available.


This space can be used for the following:

  • Learning HTML and PHP
  • Hosting a web site for your CS projects
  • APIs for applications developed as part of your CS projects

While it may/should include a page about yourself it may not be used for any of the following:

  • Anything not related to you UCT degree
  • Promoting a business
  • Distributing pornography or any illegal / pirated software
  • Anything else that violates the UCT Code of Conduct for Students or Staff.
