Login accounts

To access most CS services you will require a CS login account. This account differs from, and is managed separately from your UCT account which is used for eduroam, vula and other UCT services.

Once created you will use this same account throughout your time in the Department.

Junior Undergraduates

We do not provide services to 1st year students. Use the Faculty SCILABs with your UCT username and password.

Senior Undergraduate

Accounts are created automatically at the beginning of your first senior year - usually 2nd year. You should receive an email to your myuct.ac.za email address with your username and password when your account is created.

Your username will be your student number.

Honours

Accounts for new students are created automatically at the beginning of the year following registration. You should receive an email with your account details at you myuct.ac.za email address.

Your username will be your student number.

Graduates

Students continuing from UCT Honours will keep their CS account, though it will be renamed to first initial and surname e.g. jbloggs.

Accounts for new students are not created automatically and must currently be requested from the Systems Administrators.

Staff

Staff accounts are usually created manually when a new staff member is appointed. If necessary, request your account from the Systems Administrators.
