Individuals
Each Login accounts includes web site space visible on the Internet at http://people.cs.uct.ac.za/~username.
To edit your site files in the public_html directory in your File storage home directory. If this directory does not exist ask the Systems Administrators to set it up for you.
Languages
Languages supported include:
- HTML
- PHP5
- Any client side languages such as Javascript
Python or Java frameworks are not currently available.
Acceptable and Unacceptable Use
This space can be used for the following:
- Learning HTML and PHP
- Hosting a web site for your CS projects
- APIs for applications developed as part of your CS projects
While it may/should include a page about yourself it may not be used for any of the following:
- Anything not related to you UCT degree
- Promoting a business
- Distributing pornography or any illegal / pirated software
- Anything else that violates the UCT Code of Conduct for Students or Staff.
Research
Staff may request web sites for their research groups or projects.
Department
The Department's main web site is [[1]] and contains information about its activities, teaching, research and staff.
